Guess what has become even easier to measure? Liquid filling and dosing with the Apollo GX-A/GF-A series built-in Flow Rate Display.
When measuring liquid with the conventional method, time is noted with a stopwatch and the flow rate is calculated by checking changes in the weighing value of the balance throughout the measured time. However, this method sometimes has a ‘time-clock disparity’, and temporary fluctuations during measurement cannot be observed.
To avoid irregularity that can occur in traditional liquid filling and dosing applications, the new Apollo series features a Flow Rate Display (FRD) function.
The FRD function works by automatically calculating the flow rate of liquids (and other materials such as powders) based on the change in mass over a set time.
The FRD allows you to display the weight change as a ‘flow rate’, and you will get a direct display of the flow rate of a sample in g/s, g/m, g/h or volume flow rate in mL/s, mL/m, mL/h.
With the FRD, you can:
- Observe flow rate changes in real time
- Check flow rate of fluids flowing through a pump
- See temporary changes during pulsating flows
- Up to 10 sample densities can be saved to memory
The FRD also allows you to understand how the flow rate can be affected by a change in the sample’s temperature and viscosity. You can use the FRD in conjunction with the flow Rate Comparator, if you want to keep flow rates within designated limits.
Our WinCT-FRD software will then process the data, with changes in flow rate value and weighing value graphed in real time. This data also shows the overall flow rate values and temporary changes, including flow rate spikes due to pulsating flows.
